A medical/chemical abortion procedure uses two drugs to terminate a pregnancy. The first medication ends the pregnancy by blocking the hormone progesterone. This causes the fetal heart to stop and the pregnancy to detach from the uterine lining.

Knowledge is empowering and allows you to make an informed decision about your unplanned pregnancy confidently.

From the moment you arrive, you’ll be welcomed into a safe, respectful environment. You’ll meet privately with one of our licensed medical professionals who will walk you through each step with care and compassion. Your visit is completely confidential.

STI/STD testing
Honest, non-judgmental education about your pregnancy options
We’re here to give you clarity so you can make decisions with confidence.
An ultrasound gives you critical information about your pregnancy—especially if you’re considering abortion. It can answer three key medical questions:
Is the pregnancy located in the uterus (not ectopic)?
Is the pregnancy viable (is there a heartbeat)?
How far along am I?
Knowing these answers helps protect your health and gives you the facts you need to make an informed decision.
Your privacy matters to us and we are here to support you with respect and discretion. Parental permission is not required to receive services from Georgia Wellness.
Yes. It’s possible to be pregnant and have an STI or STD at the same time—and many infections don’t cause obvious symptoms.
If left untreated, some STIs can lead to serious health complications for you and your pregnancy. That’s why early testing is so important—whether you’re planning to continue your pregnancy or not.

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the abortion pill through 70 days (10 weeks) of pregnancy. A medical/chemical abortion procedure uses two drugs to terminate a pregnancy. The first medication ends the pregnancy by blocking the hormone progesterone. This causes the fetal heart to stop and the pregnancy to detach from the uterine lining. Up to 48 hours later, the second medication is taken, which causes strong uterine cramping to expel the embryo/fetus and pregnancy tissue.
We recommend scheduling a pregnancy screening and ultrasound appointment for your health and safety.
A pregnancy screening appointment is critical because it reduces risk to your health and equips you with information unique to you and your pregnancy so you can make a fully informed decision.
A pregnancy screening appointment includes time with our licensed medical staff, a medical-grade pregnancy test, a limited obstetrical ultrasound, and STI/STD testing. The four essential purposes for this appointment are:
To protect your emotional, psychological, and physical health, before proceeding with an abortion it is important to have all the information mentioned above.
The most common side effects of a surgical abortion include:
Complications of a surgical abortion include:
If you are considering abortion, there are a few abortion types available, including surgical abortions and medication (or the abortion pill). The cost of an abortion and the availability of each will depend on how far along you are in your pregnancy. Our team will help you to understand the facts about your abortion options, abortion side effects, and abortion risks.
While GA Wellness does not perform or refer women for elective abortions, we are here to provide the judgment-free care you need so you can make the best decision possible for you. We do offer a free pre-abortion screening for women who are considering this option.
There are two types of abortion procedures: medical/chemical abortion and surgical abortion. The type of procedure women undergo depends on how far along they are in their pregnancy, health status, and ability to access emergency/follow-up care.
A surgical abortion is a medical procedure that ends your pregnancy. If a woman is more than 10 weeks into her pregnancy and is not eligible for the abortion pill, or in the event of a medication abortion failure, a surgical abortion may have to be performed.
I went here for my first well woman checkup and they were so professional and kind! Really listened to my medical and personal history and helped me come up with a plan to navigate my health issues. Highly highly highly recommend!
I went here for an ultrasound, and the staff and nurse were absolutely so friendly and helpful. I didn’t know this was a Christian-based clinic, and that was exactly what I was looking for! I went into it thinking it was going to be like a Planned Parenthood, which I didn’t want to support. I was thrilled to have my baby prayed for and be in a Christian environment. I felt so supported and safe, they truly care about you here.
I visited a few months ago for an ultrasound during pregnancy. The nurses performing the ultrasound were very knowledgeable and kind and answered any questions I had. The front desk staff was also very welcoming and they insisted on me leaving with a baby blanket. I really appreciated their thoroughness and professionalism in my visit.

Early pregnancy brings a lot of change—physically, emotionally, and hormonally. As your body begins to adjust, pregnancy hormones like hCG can cause a range of symptoms that may feel different for every woman.
Here are some of the most common early signs of pregnancy:
If you’re noticing any of these symptoms, we’re here to help you take the next step with clarity and care. Schedule a free or low cost pregnancy test today to know for sure.
Receiving a positive pregnancy test can bring a flood of emotions and questions. The most crucial first step is to confirm your pregnancy accurately. At-home tests can be unreliable, especially if taken too early. GA Wellness offers free or low-cost, lab-quality pregnancy testing administered by medical professionals.
If your pregnancy test is positive,GA Wellness provides an ultrasound. This is the most accurate way to:
Confirm gestational age.
Determine viability (whether the pregnancy is continuing).
Identify the location of the fetus.
The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists notes that early pregnancy loss occurs in about 10% of recognized pregnancies. If your pregnancy is not viable and a miscarriage is likely, an abortion is not necessary, as the pregnancy will end naturally.
Before any medical procedure, including an abortion, it’s vital to be fully informed about potential risks such as infection (sepsis) or uterine perforation. A pre-abortion screening helps minimize these potential adverse effects. While GA Wellness does not perform or refer for abortions, we offer complimentary pre-abortion screening appointments that include:
What if I am Experiencing an Ectopic Pregnancy?
An ectopic pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg implants outside the uterus, most commonly in the fallopian tube. According to the CDC, ectopic pregnancies account for approximately 2% of all reported pregnancies. It’s crucial to understand that the abortion pill will not end an ectopic pregnancy and can actually be harmful if taken in this situation. Our pre-abortion screening helps identify ectopic pregnancies. If you are experiencing an ectopic pregnancy, GA Wellness can connect you with the appropriate medical care.
Please note that treatment for an ectopic pregnancy is not considered an abortion due to the pregnancy not being viable. Because of this, treatment for an ectopic pregnancy is never illegal in any state, regardless of the abortion laws of that state.

Choosing an Abortion Method
Once you receive an ultrasound, GA Wellness can provide detailed abortion information if needed. We will discuss the various types of abortions available to you based on the results of your ultrasound. It is critical to have an ultrasound before deciding on an abortion method, as the available options depend on the gestational age of the pregnancy. For example, taking the abortion pill too late in the pregnancy can pose serious health risks and may not be effective.
Common Types of Abortion Include:
Abortion Pill
Suction / Aspiration Abortion
Dilation and Evacuation (D&E) before viability
Dilation and Evacuation after viability
Here are some common signs and symptoms you might experience in early pregnancy:
Missed period (amenorrhea): For women with regular cycles, a period that is a week or more late can indicate pregnancy. This is less reliable for those with irregular cycles.
Tender or swollen breasts: Elevated pregnancy hormones (estrogen, progesterone, prolactin) can cause breast and nipple soreness due to tissue swelling.
Nausea with or without vomiting: Often called “morning sickness,” this typically begins 1-2 months after conception. Some women experience it throughout pregnancy, while others never do. It’s thought to be caused by pregnancy hormones.
Increased urination: The increased blood volume during pregnancy means your kidneys process more fluid, leading to more frequent urination.
Fatigue: A very common early symptom, often due to a rapid rise in progesterone and the increased energy demands of supporting two lives.
Moodiness: Hormonal fluctuations in early pregnancy can lead to mood swings, including emotional sensitivity and weepiness.
Bloating: Hormonal changes can cause a bloated feeling, similar to what you might experience before a menstrual period.
